MiFID II/MiFIR will come into force from 3 January 2018. This new legislative framework will improve the functioning of financial markets making them more efficient, resilient and transparent. The protection of investors is strengthened through the introduction of new requirements on product governance and independent investment advice, the improvement of requirements in several areas, including the responsibility of management bodies, information and reporting to clients, cross-selling and best execution.
If you are a legal entity
You are required to obtain LEI code. LEI is a unique 20-character alphanumeric code (based on ISO 17442) and must be obtained from an authorized LEI issuer. Please kindly note that in the absence of LEI Boson Alfa will not be in position to make transactions that are subject to reporting under MiFID II. Therefore, please make sure that your LEI is regularly renewed and remains valid as long as you work with Boson Alfa.
If you are a natural person
To the extent permitted by MiFID II Boson Alfa is required to disclose the following information to competent authorities: first name and surname, date of birth and other personal data (national ID number).
Product governance and investor’s protection
Safeguarding of Client’s interests, financial instruments and assets by providing increased information on products and services is the key point of MiFID II.
The requirements on product governance apply without prejudice to any assessment of appropriateness or suitability to be subsequently carried out by the firm in the provision of investment services to each client, on the basis of their personal needs, characteristics and objectives.
